In the movie, I came across the phrase 'wired in' several times but I was surprised that it's not a technical term. Actually, the developers focus only on programming at certain moments and they don't want to be disturbed nor distracted by other things at that time. In other words, they get 'wired in' and enter a state of peak productivity. Perhaps, this is one of the reasons behind the success of Mark Zuckerberg and Facebook.
I believe that this is what we need to do in a world full of distractions, which ironically also includes Facebook. As a student, I'll get 'wired in' and focus only on important things now.
In case you are wondering, the developers are not 'wired in' all the time. They also have fun working and they do enjoy a lot.
